With nearly 500 miles of paradisaical Caribbean beaches and crystal-clear turquoise waters, Honduras offers some of the world’s finest sand and sea. Roatan, Utila and Guanaja in the Bay Islands and the Cayos Cochinos provide plenty of opportunities for underwater discoveries. Amid the spectacular Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, and surrounded by tranquil beaches, in these islands visitors can enjoy activities like kayaking, glass bottom boat rides, sailing or simply lounge on the pristine shoreline.
Just outside of Tela lies the second largest tropical botanical garden in the world: Lancetilla Botanical Gardens. Established by the Tela Railroad Co. as an experimental planting station, in this garden tropical plants from all around the world can be found.
