The second largest city in Honduras is also the main gateway for tourism in the country. San Pedro Sula has a wide range of accommodation options, from international chains to small & medium-sized locally owned hotels. A selection of nice small boutique hotels is available as well.
South San Pedro Sula on the highway to Tegucigalpa is located the Lake Yojoa, Honduras’ only lake, and one of the highlights of the area, an unparalelled opportunity for abundant birdwatching. Close by are the magnificent Pulhapanzak Waterfalls, a nice place to spend a half day admiring the beautiful landscapes and chilling out by the refreshing ponds.
On the North coast, Tela and La Ceiba are the destinations of choice where you can easily plan for a 3-4 night stay and enjoy the surroundings, combining leisure and relaxation by the beach with adventure and nature activities.
